At a Texas facility holding nearly 1,500 migrant children, a mural of President Donald Trump with a quote about his past attempt to evict New York tenants greets the children detained there.
“Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war,” the quote, printed in both English and Spanish, reads.
The quote from his [1987 book The Art of the Deal] references Trump’s failed attempt to evict tenants from their homes in 1985. “This is a story about a group of tenants who fought very hard to keep me from tearing down the building they lived in and constructing a new one in its place,” Trump continued in his book.
