The Right's Hollywood Hypocrisy (Kanye West edition)

Despite their supposed disdain for Hollywood and its celebrity culture, conservatives are so starved for contemporary star power on their side, they will openly adopt a maddeningly rambling jackass like Kanye West as their own. Which, come to think of it, is not all that different from their superficial embracing of any and all likeminded people of color, particularly African-Americans, who overwhelmingly rejected Donald Trump at the polls in 2016. Hey, can't have enough useful idiots, right?

Their giddiness and joy over West's support of Trump has provoked a sort of KanyeFest that has even inspired some quite delusional outbursts like this one from the UK conservative fave The Spectator
"[West's] decision to embrace the right could reinvigorate his career and then you can bet he won’t be the last fame hungry celebrity to cross the left/right Rubicon in 2018. In fact, there’s a good chance there will be a stampede.
Of course there will be a stampede of notoriously liberal Hollywood types flocking to support a greatly unpopular president who has the earned the ire of gays, Jews, people of color and pro-choice women. Yes, of course. I can see it now.

Btw, can't wait for The Daily Stormer endorsement of Kanye West. That's gonna be awesome, yo!
