Oh, So NOW You Get It? [part 2]

Another “we told you so” moment and my latest instance of schadenfreude comes courtesy of none other than Patrick Bet-David

An Iranian-born, naturalized American citizen, Bet-David made his fortune in the field of multi-level marketing, which many consider pyramid schemes, regardless of legality. He then started a successful YouTube channel and eventually went into political podcasting. He is, of course, a MAGAt and a big proponent of people working long hours for peanuts and justifies this by claiming he did it himself in order to get “a shot” at success. Yeah, right.

In any event, as you may have surmised from my description above, Bet-David is not a Caucasian man nor could he even remotely pass for one. And his fellow MAGAts made sure to remind him of this recently.

It turns out white nationalist MAGAts came after him for sticking up for Elmo and Vivek, and stuck his nose in shit, telling him he was just another unwelcome immigrant and would never be an American. It was such a delight to witness the backlash, which led to Bet-David publicly admitting his surprise to this reaction. Obviously, he has likely fooled himself into thinking that he’s immune to the MAGAt racist garbage just because they all voted for the same Orange Sewer Rat.

Nope. Try again, homey.

Oh, So NOW You Get It?

I’m not going to bet on this one being the first of many things to wake up the MAGAt sheep from their idiotic slumber and acknowledge the things our side has been saying for the longest. But conservatives are reactionary by definition: they act when disaster comes knocking not when you can see it in the distance. (Which is why I’m pretty sure they’ll be calling for climate change measures when we have 100 foot tsunami like waves hitting the coasts on the regular, along with 500 mph tornadoes ripping through the Midwest.)

As it turns out, a good chunk of them are uneasy about the prominence of Elmo Mush within the Orange Sewer Rat’s circle, and how he might influence policy that will certainly benefit the tech bros but not Americans at large, including the MAGAts.

That’s what leads someone like the detestable Laura Loomer to say the following:

“This is the problem when you … allow for a billionaire to make a $200 million donation. And so, maybe we really do need to have campaign finance regulations in this country.”

Of course, this is a statement borne of self interest, not from recognizing that it’s inherently bad for crazy ass, billionaires and proven robber barons like Mush to have that kind of political influence. But they did it to themselves and willingly so.

Good luck with that.
